Pay on delivery and deposits
Decide what Vendwa may offer at checkout. Payment before dispatch is the default.
By default Vendwa takes payment before anything is dispatched. You can loosen that.
These settings decide when a customer pays, not how. How they pay depends on your shop: if we have switched MoMo payment prompts on for you, Vendwa pushes the request to their phone; if not, they send the money to your MoMo number and you mark the order paid. Both routes obey everything on this page.
Turn on pay on delivery
- Open Settings.
- Find Payment terms.
- Turn on Pay on delivery.
- Save.
Vendwa can now confirm an order with nothing to pay upfront. With it off, Vendwa politely explains payment comes first.
Turn on part payment
- In Payment terms, turn on Part payment (deposit).
- Save.
Customers can pay a deposit now and the balance on delivery. Vendwa works out the exact split. It never invents its own numbers.
Write your own rules
Two free-text boxes let you set what Vendwa may say:
- Payment note — "Deposit is non-refundable." "Pay-on-delivery only within Accra."
- Returns and exchanges — "Exchanges within 3 days, unworn and with the receipt. No cash refunds."
Vendwa quotes these as they stand. It will not extend them, soften them, or guess at a rule you did not write. Anything your note does not cover comes to you instead.
Good to know
Write these the way you would say them to a customer at the counter, because that is where they end up.
