Meta's Business Agent vs Vendwa: an honest comparison
The short version. Meta's Business Agent is free, it's built into WhatsApp, and it answers customer questions well. If what you need is questions answered, use it — it costs nothing and you're already in the app. Vendwa is for the part after the question: negotiating to a price floor you set, collecting Mobile Money, writing the order down, and giving your shop a public link. If your sales end in a negotiation and a MoMo transfer, that's the gap.
What Meta actually shipped
Meta announced Business Agent at its Conversations event and made it available worldwide on WhatsApp in June 2026. Per Meta's own announcement, more than one million businesses were already using it across WhatsApp and Messenger.
It answers customer questions, recommends products, books appointments, qualifies leads, and hands a conversation to a person when it needs to. It runs on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. It is free to use today, and Meta has said pricing will arrive through WhatsApp Business Premium tiers, with larger businesses charged on token usage.
That is a serious product from the company that owns the app your customers are already in. Anybody telling you otherwise is selling something.

Where Meta wins, plainly
It's free, and free is a real feature. For a shop with no budget, GH₵0 beats GH₵199 and no amount of writing on our part changes that arithmetic.
It's already in the app. No connecting, no configuring, no account with a company you've never heard of. That is a genuinely lower barrier than ours and it's why a million businesses got there before us.
It covers Instagram and Messenger at no extra cost. On Vendwa, Instagram starts on Pro at GH₵399. If Instagram DMs are where your sales happen and your budget is tight, Meta's arrangement is simply better for you than ours.
It will get better, and faster than we will. Meta has resources we don't. Anything that can be solved by a large general-purpose model will be solved on their side eventually.
And it isn't going away. Whatever we build, it will be built next to this, not instead of it.
Where Vendwa is different
Three things, and they're all the same shape: they're the parts of a Ghanaian sale that happen after the customer's question is answered.
It negotiates to a number you set. "Last price?" is the message every Ghanaian seller gets, and an assistant that answers questions has nothing to say to it. Vendwa comes down in small steps, always with a reason, toward a secret floor price you set on each product — and the floor is enforced by our system before any reply is sent, not written as an instruction the AI is asked to remember. However the customer phrases it, there's nothing below your floor for it to agree to. How the floor price works.
It asks for the money and keeps the record. The moment a price is agreed, your MoMo details and the exact amount go into the chat. You confirm from your own alert — Vendwa can't mark an order paid by itself, and it won't accept a screenshot as proof. Then the order exists as an order, with the item, the negotiated price, the delivery fee as its own line, and a branded receipt. How MoMo works in Vendwa.
Your shop gets a link. shop.vendwa.com/your-shop-name, with your items, cedi prices, sizes and stock, and an Order on WhatsApp button under every one. It's free on every plan, Starter included. Meta's agent has no equivalent — it lives in a chat, and a chat has no address you can put in an Instagram bio.
One thing worth being precise about: we're not claiming to be the only tool in Ghana that negotiates or takes MoMo. We aren't. Other Ghanaian products describe both. What we can say is what ours does and how, which is what this page is for.
When you should use Meta's agent instead
Genuinely — some readers should close this page and go and switch it on. That's you if:
- Your customers don't negotiate. Fixed prices, no last-price chats. Half of what we charge for is doing nothing for you.
- You don't collect money in the chat. If you're a service business quoting jobs, or customers pay in person, the MoMo half of Vendwa is idle.
- You mostly answer the same few questions. Opening hours, location, do you have X. Meta's agent handles that competently and free.
- Your budget is zero right now. GH₵199 a month is real money. Start with Meta's free agent, grow, and come back when the chats are costing you more than a subscription.
- Instagram is your main channel and Pro is out of reach. Meta's agent covers Instagram at no cost; ours does from GH₵399.
We'd rather write that down than have you pay for fourteen days and find it out yourself.
Can you run both?
On the same WhatsApp number, no — one assistant answers a chat, and having two would be a mess for your customer. Pick one per number.
What some shops do is keep Meta's agent on a personal or secondary number for general enquiries, and run Vendwa on the selling number where the catalogue, the floor prices and the MoMo live. It works, but it's two inboxes, and two inboxes is its own tax.
The honest test
Look at your last twenty sales and ask two questions. Did the price move during the conversation? And did the money arrive by MoMo in that same chat?
If the answer to both is no, Meta's free agent will probably serve you well and you should use it.
If the answer to both is yes — which for most Ghanaian shops it is — then the thing that's costing you money isn't unanswered questions. It's the GH₵20 you give away at 11pm, and the customer who said yes on Tuesday and never got sent your MoMo number. If it's the first of those, the last-price chat is written out here.
